Reports, correspondence and administrative records concerning YWCA of the U.S.A. associations in Passaic and Phillipsburg, New Jersey and documents concerning developing work in Perth Amboy. Visitation reports describe and assess the association's program, leadership, activities, facilities and services. Other documents include constitutions and bylaws, lists of professional and volunteer leadership, studies of the YWCA of Paterson program and its community, documents concerning cooperation with the YMCA, association fact sheets, historical summaries and applications for affiliation. The YWCA of Paterson, as a charter member of the YWCA of the U.S.A., has a strong history of service to the women and girls of its community including an industrial program and an international institute. In Perth Amboy women's club work is conducted by the YMCA there. Letters and reports asses the activities and program and indicate that efforts are made to develop a YWCA program independent from the YMCA. YWCA program in Phillipsburg is organized in the Standard Silk Mill and eventually separates itself from the YWCA of the U.S.A. A letter from a visiting secretary indicates that there has been some confusion as to the nature of the separation and the program's relationship to the YWCA of the U.S.A.
