Documents concerning YWCA war relief activities in Finland and France. During World War II, the YWCA of the U.S.A. cooperates with the World YWCA, YWCA organizations around the world, and other relief agencies to assist with the global cause. War relief activities include operating hostess houses, refugee relief, financial support, health aid and supplying provisions. Documents from Finland include a report of the effect of war on the children of Finland and correspondence regarding a program to send relief parcels. In France, YWCA secretaries write vivid and detailed accounts of their experiences working in France and include an account of one secretary's experience evacuating France. Other documents concern the activities of the Cimade organization working with refugees and assisting in relief efforts.
