Documents concerning the National Student YWCA interracial education program and incentives to address issues of racism in associations and college campuses. Program materials include suggestions for planning, implementing and evaluating interracial programming in student associations in addition to reports by Yolanda B. Wilkerson of her study to evaluate interracial campus programs and suggest steps for improvement. Visitation and field secretary reports provide narrative account of the interracial work being done through student associations regionally and on college campuses. Staff documents include notes from staff discussions and the job analysis and reports of the Secretary for Interracial Education, a position to develop leadership, interpret the inclusive purpose of the YWCA of the U.S.A. to student associations and make resources available to associations.
The records are open to research according to the regulations of the Sophia Smith Collection with the following accesptions: Portions of the physical papers are stored offsite. To access the microfilm reels and boxes 893-964 and 1061-1132, researchers must give two working days advance notice. Access to audiovisual materials may first require production of research copies.
