Documents concerning the program, administration and development of YWCA of the U.S.A. associations in Portland and Salem, Oregon followed by "Summary and recommendations of a study of the social and health needs of The Dalles and Wasco County, Oregon," by William Savin. Documents are arranged alphabetically by area with further topical and form designations on the microfilm. The administration and development of the associations is documented in basic standards reports, national certification documents, constitutions, and bylaws. Visitation reports include program descriptions, reports of challenges and successes, and discussion of personnel and management need. Additional materials include and correspondence and reports concerning association program and operations.
The records are open to research according to the regulations of the Sophia Smith Collection with the following accesptions: Portions of the physical papers are stored offsite. To access the microfilm reels and boxes 893-964 and 1061-1132, researchers must give two working days advance notice. Access to audiovisual materials may first require production of research copies.
